Category Manager - Professional Services/HR
About the Role: We are looking for an Indirect Procurement Professional Services and Human Resources Category Manager responsible for the development and management of sourcing strategies to support business needs across the enterprise. This entails managing risk and optimizing the value/resilience of services including: establishing supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement goals/programs, negotiating contracts and coordinating supplier integration plans with internal clients, monitoring market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing, partnering with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles, identify marketplace trends, and define acceptable service levels.
This position will be located at one of our facilities in Phoenix, Arizona, Flagstaff, Arizona or Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Pay and Benefits:
- $100,000 - $140,000 per year
- Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics

- Utilize available market intelligence information to identify opportunities and drive category management strategy
- Create and execute category strategies by collaborating with Category Lead in alignment with Operating Company and Enterprise goals
- Manage key stakeholder relationships while ensuring business requirements are met
- Conduct supplier risk assessment and determine mitigation strategy
- Execute supplier negotiations in alignment with the category sourcing strategies with all suppliers
- Leverage Procurement Operations team outputs and deliverables in direct application of category strategies: Spend Analytics, Total Cost of Ownership, Supplier Performance and Risk Management, Procurement Policy Development/Governance
- Collaborate with the Procurement Operations team and Indirect Procurement associates across all Operating Companies and Specialty Groups
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business preferred)
- Minimum 7 years Procurement experience or relevant work experience
- Experience with monitoring supplier based performance
- Knowledge and experience in creating sourcing instruction for operational Procurement team
- Demonstrated ability to execute negotiations with new and existing suppliers in alignment with category sourcing strategies
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute category strategies
- Ability to conduct supplier risk assessment and determine mitigation strategy
- Demonstrated ability to enable Change with a Growth mindset toward Industry Standard practices
Desired Qualifications:
- CPSM, CPM, SPSM or similar certification
- Previous global Professional Services and Human Resources Indirect Procurement Strategic experience preferred
