Chemical Regulatory Affairs
About the Role: We are looking for a Chemical Regulatory Affairs Associate to join our Team. Chemical Regulatory Affairs provides expertise on chemicals and associated regulations. In this role, you will focus on chemical control regulations in North America which enable the use, development and movement of materials globally. You will support Gore at a regional level to develop, improve and/or implement processes to manage risk and support regional compliance.
This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona, or our facility in Elkton, Maryland, hybrid or fully remote work allowed in most locations within the United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Pay and Benefits:
- $75,000 - $139,000 per year

- Develop a thorough understanding of Gore materials and relevant existing and emerging chemical regulations
- Monitor and review relevant regulations to determine chemical regulatory impacts and risks to Businesses; translating potential impacts into options and recommendations appropriate to markets of use
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Gore’s chemical regulatory processes and records
- Support TSCA program activities including chemical inventory compliance, data collection, analysis, preparation of documents and submission data such as Chemical Data Reporting (CDR), SNUR, exemptions and imports and exports, and using CDX
- Provide regulatory assistance and input into various activities including new product development, new chemical approvals, and Stewardship Assessments
- Create/update SDSs (Safety Data Sheets) and label text consistent with GHS (Globally Harmonized System) requirements
- Provide regular training and engage with a broad range of stakeholders on chemical regulatory affairs
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Science (chemistry, environmental science, biology, etc.) or demonstrated in-depth understanding of regulatory principles and guidelines
- Minimum 2 years experience in a regulated environment with demonstrated ability to interpret regulations, assess impact, and drive actions
- Active communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for performing detail-oriented work while considering the impacts to end-to-end processes or systems
- Strong ability to recognize Intellectual Property (IP) and other different waterlines
- Ability to prepare procedures, position statements, reports and other relevant documentation and submissions
- Ability to use systems and tools to collect, analyze, validate and maintain chemical substance and related data for our products in support of regulatory agency submissions in North America (e.g. CEPA, US EPA, States)
- Ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders including manufacturing, technical and logistics teams globally
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and effectively lead yourself and contribute to a global and virtual team
- Ability to travel 10%
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in a product stewardship, chemical regulatory or regulated environment role
- Knowledge and experience with Canadian and/or other chemical control regulations, FDA, or OSHA, regulations
- Experience with digital compliance tools
This position requires access to export-controlled areas and information. Candidates must be "U.S. persons" as that term is defined in 8 USC §1324b(a)(3). Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore’s remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed. For fully remote roles, the following locations are not eligible for new fully remote work arrangements: Alaska and Hawaii (for all roles), and Rhode Island (for wage/hourly roles only).
