About the Role: We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our Fabrics Facility Team who will be responsible for execution of new construction and renovation projects in our Fabrics Eastern U.S. plants located in Elkton, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for providing project leadership and administration for concurrent facilities projects.

 

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Interface with business teams to develop and implement new construction, major infrastructure and renovation projects to meet specific business needs, help consumers develop statements of needs focusing on problem statements prior to jumping to solutions
  • Effectively manage the project’s Scope, Budget, Timeline, Change Management/Communication Plan of multiple concurrent projects while adhering to quality, timing and budgetary considerations, including timely notifying Stakeholders of any major revisions or impacts
  • Lead project meetings and ensure user requirements are captured in the design documents and constructed accordingly through the construction process
  • Develop strong and healthy business relationships with external design firms and contractors to execute on construction projects that meet internal customer needs
  • Partner with internal teams (Security, IT, EH&S, FE&I, Building Services, Sustainability, AV, Life Safety, Place Making, etc.) to ensure proper coordination and adherence to enterprise goals, standards and guidelines
  • Develop statements of work for external partners, support RFQ, bidding process, contract development, and selection of appropriate project delivery method with procurement
  • Collaborate with internal quality team when project work may impact quality systems to ensure proper procedures are followed and documented in required formats
  • Construction administration of contract compliance and modifications, pay application review and approval, review of submittals and RFIs
  • Work with Facility Engineers in support of projects to identify standard equipment, provide asset number for construction documents, understand integration of facility infrastructure into the plant, etc 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in Facilities, Construction Management, or Project Management
  • Experience at negotiation and administration of construction contracts and consultant agreements in collaboration with Procurement
  • Direct experience with facilities HVAC systems or construction methods and materials
  • Complete understanding of the design and construction process including programming, code analysis, schematic design, design development, project estimating, contract documents, specifications, bidding, contracts, contract administration, construction, and commissioning and project turnover
  • Knowledge of country specific building codes
  • Demonstrated aptitude toward facility design, construction and operations with an emphasis on design knowledge within the architectural and engineering fields
  • Proficient in using project management tools and in financial analysis & project cost estimating
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to plan and organize complex projects and develop detailed project scopes
  • Ability to read design and construction drawings and understand national, state, and local codes, materials and methods involved in construction and renovation
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Prior experienced constructing or operating regulated environments/clean rooms
  • Experience working with facilities-oriented equipment such as chillers, air handlers, air compressors, cooling towers, medium voltage distribution equipment, and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with an understanding of P&ID, HVAC, & electrical systems

 

To minimize disruption to the business, while supporting growth and development, Associates are expected to fulfill a minimum of 2 years in commitment before applying to another internal commitment. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved.
