Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Materials Science and Engineering (or related science) OR a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering (or a related science) with a minimum of 3 years of industry work experience
  • Hands-on experience in conducting corrosion testing in accordance with ASTM standards such as ASTM F2129 and ASTM F3044
  • Network and interact effectively with a broad range of associates spanning varied disciplines and responsibilities, including both internally and externally
  • Working knowledge and experience with corrosion testing including potentiodynamic polarization testing
  • Working knowledge of the fundamentals of statistics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate ideas, concepts, and conclusions to both highly technical and non-technical associates
  • Ability to have a work style of hands-on involvement with all phases of projects with the ability to work effectively in team situations as well as independently
  • Demonstrated ability in the development and execution of experiments, testing, data analysis and documentation of results
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion
  • Ability to understand electrochemical and corrosion principles
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the medical device industry, with familiarity of quality control systems, design control, validations, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience evaluating degradation behavior of resorbable metals
  • Working knowledge and experience with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)
