About the Role: We are looking for a Factory Apparel Management Specialist to join our Product Support team who will be responsible for providing factory management support to Gore Fabric business.

  

This position will be located at our Elk Mills 5 facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

  

Pay and Benefits:

  • $84,000 - $100,000 per year

Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure a robust GORE Certified Apparel manufacturers certification process, effective factory landscape management, and appropriate contracts are in place; this includes new and existing GORE Certified Apparel and glove manufacturers meet third-party specifications as per Defense and NFPA norms
  • Provide technical support to GORE Certified Apparel manufacturers to ensure that GORE-TEX garments are produced effectively to meet “Fit for Use” Gore Quality and manufacturing standards
  • Implement an effective, efficient, and ongoing factory training program including Gore Quality & Manufacturing Standards, Branding, Gore Seam Sealing & Test Equipment
  • Work closely with internal teams and customers, including seam sealing team; gather factory feedback from internal and external testing to implement new technologies into commercial manufacturing and assist with factory trials as we move through commercialization process
  • Identify manufacturing challenges and work together with teams to find viable solutions specifically working closely with seam sealing team
  • Provide in-depth training and troubleshooting for NA factories to operate and maintain complex seam sealing equipment, through virtual and in person support
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS in engineering, technical or science degree preferred) with minimum 5 years of experience and understanding of production environment
  • Mechanical aptitude or understanding and familiarity with mechanical and electrical and ability and desire to work in a hands-on environment
  • IT and Software knowledge (Microsoft teams, outlook, centric, salesforce, etc.)
  • Excellent communication & presentation/ teaching skills with positive appearance to communicate openly with the global stakeholders and in international culture environments
  • Self-motivated, resilient, self-managed and self-confident to think independently with excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and logistical mind & sensitive in numbers - with ability to interpret numbers into critical message 
  • Ability to work alone as well as be a team player in an international cultural environment
  • Ability to drive solutions and creative problem-solving attitude, combined with the ability to prioritize and function well in fast paced operational environment
  • Ability & willingness to travel by road and air domestically (up to 40%) and internationally (up to 5%); must be physically fit due to travel requirements and have current driving license

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Take key learnings and feedback from external business partners and sharing with the internal stakeholders (and visa-versa)
  • Ability to work with regional and global teams as well as with factories in the region
  • Proven ability to influence and contribute without direction from leadership

Hybrid Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore’s hybrid working policies, from the country in which they are employed.
