About the Role: The Core Technology Custom Intermediates Team at Lovett is seeking a highly motivated 2nd shift manufacturing technician to support manufacturing and R&D. This commitment provides the opportunity to join an established team with a growing product base and help ensure that we are meeting our operations objectives and business needs. The standard 2nd shift hours are Monday – Friday 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 a.m.

 

This role will be located in Elkton, Maryland. 

 

Please note that evening, night and weekend shift positions are eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).

Responsibilities: 

  • Learn, support, practice the Gore culture
  • Follow and advocate safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment with a focus on producing quality product and achieving team production goals
  • Interact and communicate with a cross-functional group, including shop associates, process engineers, and new-product-development engineers.
  • Collaborate with shift to ensure production plans are met with the ability to monitor and ship production orders on time to downstream partners
  • Understand and adhere to basic work instructions and procedures, while providing suggestions for improvement
  • Occasional completion of NPD experiments on production equipment, while helping with sampling and data collection
  • Utilize our quality systems to ensure that processes consistently deliver products that meet customer needs and expectations
  • Identify and actively participate in continuing improvement efforts
  • Adhere to and champion of 5S standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written communication skills
  • Attentiveness to detail, good documentation and record keeping skills
  • Basic math and computer skills with ability to learn more advanced computer applications
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including experience performing preventative maintenance and rebuilds/changeovers on complex equipment
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and alternate between shifts to meet business needs
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds several times over an 8-hour period; also stand for most of the shift
  • Ability to and climb steps as needed
  • Ability to identify, conceptualize, and solve problems
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in team situations as both a leader and a follower
  • Ability to adapt to changes in production schedule and shift to other manufacturing areas (including manufacturing at Cherry Hill) on short notice

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Tenter frame experience
  • Lot allocation capability
  • Experience running R&D and working with NPD associates

 

This position requires access to export-controlled areas and information. Candidates must be "U.S. persons" as that term is defined in 8 USC §1324b(a)(3).
