About the Role: We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our Industrial Fibers Team. This associate will understand and apply the best-in-class manufacturing principles in a High Technology and High-Quality Culture.  The standard weekly hours for this 2nd Shift commitment are Monday through Friday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

 

This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland. 

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $19.00 - $32.00 per hour
  • This role is eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay for evening, night, and weekend shifts (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).

Responsibilities: 
  • Learn, practice, support, and teach the Gore culture 
  • Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex process equipment 
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot product both on and offline 
  • Perform detailed and accurate record keeping in a timely manner
  • Follow work instructions, SOP guidelines, and other modules of the quality system
  • Interact and communicate with a cross-functional group, including shop associates, process engineers, and new-product-development associates
  • Multi-task and operate several pieces of equipment simultaneously in a safe manner
  • Practice and advocate safety policies
  • Work independently as well as in a team

Required Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and machine operation experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and personal development 
  • Documentation habits, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Must have effective communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn more advanced computer applications  
  • Ability to make good product quality decisions with an attention to detail
  • Ability to positively influence teammates
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and operate several pieces of equipment simultaneously in a safe manner 
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 35lbs on a routine basis 
  • Ability to work overtime as the business requires, including weekends

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience identifying and driving continuous improvement efforts
  • Experience working cross functionally to meet business needs
  • Experience working in SAP S/4HANA software
