Material Planner
About the Role: We’re looking for full time Material Planner to join our Gore Fabrics Planning team. In this role, you will be responsible for the formal planning and execution of all tactical processes required to secure and manage direct materials based on a forward looking production plan.
This role will be located at our facility in Shenzhen, China.
Responsibilities:
- Create, validate, and maintain a valid materials plan based upon the Master Production Schedule
- Releases against the established commitment & contract for the purpose of meeting the production & inventory schedules and communicates this release to the supplier
- Ensure the right materials are released at the right time to minimize overall costs and cash impact
- Partner with Procurement and Manufacturing for resolution of short-term supply/demand imbalances for materials
- Execute inventory levels and replenishment models for dependent and independent demand items that are part of the finished good (direct materials)
- Works closely with Procurement team to ensure “strategic inventory reserves” are being executed upon for risk mitigation
- Works closely with Logistics to ensure shipping schedules of vessel or airfreight to destinations
- Uses Supplier capacity information for planning purposes for short term execution, provides input to or creates the mid to long term material plans
- Works actively with Procurement team to assist in Supplier performance improvement
- Actively lead and participate in the continuous improvement of the material planning process
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, business, or technical field
- And/or High School diploma plus 5 years relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years relevant functional experience (asset scheduling, distribution planning, material planning, procurement etc)
- Basic knowledge of supply chain
- Understanding of ERP functionality to support purchasing process
- Ability to effectively communicate to broad audiences
- Good both oral and written English
- Ability to travel up to 5%
Desired Qualifications:
- APICS (ASCM) CPIM certification
- Operations, scheduling, and planning experiences
- ERP and reporting expertise
