New Product Development Engineer
About the Role: We are looking for a New Product Development Engineer to join our Automotive Technical team. In this role, you will work within a global and cross-functional team to advance new product development projects from concept through commercialization, you will need to identifying critical uncertainties, designing targeted experiments, rapidly building new prototypes, defining and assessing fitness-for-use, and driving commercialization and scale up.
This role will be located at our facility in Shenzhen Bao’an, China.
- Execute the disciplined project practices to design and develop new and derivative products effectively by understanding the end use of products, determining specifications and fitness-for-use of materials
- Identify and assess product alternatives, as well as fabricate prototypes, material evaluation
- Design the experiments, as well as analyze, document and communicate the results
- Develop test methods and procedures to assess product performance
- Identify patent opportunities and supporting the enterprise IP processes
- Communicate product development progress and results effectively with global and cross-functional teams
- Confront the challenges of troubleshooting technically complex product issues
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or advanced degree in engineering or science (Polymer, Chemical, Electronic, Mechanical, Material, etc)
- 5 years new product development and design experience
- Experience developing new processes to support product development
- Skillfully applying AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
- Demonstrated ability to lead global cross-functional project teams, strong project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to design experiments, work in the lab, statistically analyze the results and provide data supported decisions
- Hands-on working style with the ability to prioritize multiple projects on aggressive timelines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to travel up to 20%

- Die cutting design and process knowledge & experience
- Pressure Sensitive Adhesive knowledge & application experience
- Familiar with IATF16949
