Senior IT Business Analyst - Specialty

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will act as a liaison among stakeholders to understand the capabilities required to meet organizational goals and objectives. You will document these requirements and user stories in a way that can be easily leveraged for solution design, build, and operation, ensuring that the resulting developed solutions ultimately meet the business needs. You will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) for software applications and the business processes that surround them.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Pay and Benefits:
- $130,000 - $175,000 per year
- Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate business systems, processes, and requirements
- Champion continuous improvement by encouraging lean thinking within business and IT teams
- Partner with business requesters and the IT team to identify and scope high level needs in support of project initiation and business cases
- Partner with Solution Architects to develop cost / risk analyses for IT solution design concepts for proposed projects
- Develop detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and system Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) for approved projects including: facilitating requirements elicitation sessions with the user community; developing and documenting use cases, etc. to demonstrate requirements; determining overall priorities for requirements
- Collaborate with IT/QA teams to influence test plans and execution
- Provide project management support, including planning, execution, and monitoring
- Coordinate with IT teams to ensure the successful implementation of solutions
- Facilitate effective communication between business and technical teams
- Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, advising the business on their potential impact and value
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an IT business analysis or a similar role, working with business functions on 2 or more critical applications (e.g.: ERP, CRM, MES, QMS)
- Experience developing comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Use Case specifications, serving as a foundation for system design and development
- Experience conducting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments for new technology initiatives, providing data-driven recommendations to support investment decisions
- Expert in facilitating workshops and interviews with end-users and functional leads to capture current-state process workflows and define future-state processes that align with system capabilities
- Supported testing and implementation phases by validating business requirements, assisting with UAT, and ensuring technology solutions met operational and business needs
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate and present technical information to non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to proactively engage business stakeholders, identify, clarify, and shape demand for new IT solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and technology capabilities
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to travel 5%
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA)
- Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g.: GxP, 21CFR, ISO)
- Experience using process modeling tools (e.g.: Visio, BPMN, Lucidchart)
- Experience applying lean tools (e.g.: Value Steam Mapping, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis) to identify wastes and propose technology-enabled process improvements
- Experience with Organizational Change Management (OCM) methodology
