SITKA® Product Developer
About the Role: We are looking for an Apparel Developer to join our SITKA® Gear team. This person will have a passion for creating best-in-class product with a standard of excellence and will support the commercialization process
This position will be located at our facility in Bozeman, Montana, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Support product development and process management for SITKA® apparel projects – from initial concept, through commercialization, to production
- Provide project leadership and technical expertise for both domestic and overseas product teams
- Collaborate with Design, Product Management, Merchandising, Finance and Sales to establish target product attributes, costs and margins
- Utilize SITKA® systems to ensure effective project and product documentation
- Own product development timelines & calendars to ensure performance objectives are met on-time and on-target
- Provide expert knowledge and recommendations on materials, components, and construction options to meet product costing targets and functional requirements
- Drive holistic product testing and validation, utilizing lab and in-field assets, while effectively managing sampling and prototyping
- Partner with innovation, Design, and Materials teams on new technologies that lead to new development opportunities
- Stay informed of market development and opportunities to improve the competitiveness of the SITKA® brand
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related technical/engineering field, additional experience required in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 5 years' experience developing technical apparel with emphasis on consumer-brand products
- Experience leading holistic product testing efforts, analyzing results, and recommending actions
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, sketches, and digital files in 2D/3D
- Experience utilizing PLM software in daily operations
- Experience traveling overseas to manufacturing vendors/factories to develop and commercialize apparel
- Strong project management skill set with demonstrated ability to drive action and promote accountability
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to champion complex projects both cross-functionally and vertically within the organization
- Ability to travel up to 20%
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Centric PLM
- Strong knowledge of the end-to-end apparel product creation process, including sourcing, operations, and demand planning
