About the Role: We are looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will perform mechanical design, specification, installation, startup, validation and support for new and existing process and test equipment to ensure supply continuity.

  

This role will be located at our facility in Shenzhen, China.

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Understand and provide solutions to resolve process equipment and operational constraints through working effectively with Process Engineers and Production team (e.g. machine structure and frame design, power transmission design, fixture design, standard parts selection)
  • Understand and identify process hazards, control measures, and the environmental impact
  • Be the expert in diagnosing and repairing problems, identify weak areas and solutions in machinery & Recommend improvements to process and/or equipment to improve equipment robustness
  • Lead and/or be a team member of equipment projects (new equipment & upgrade and improvement existing ones) with cross functional representatives of process engineer, electrical engineer, IT, facilities, skilled trades and procurement from start to finish, including hands-on participation in functional spec development, resource coordination, purchasing and machine startup validation activities (installation, start-up, qualification of equipment)
  • Develop and implement accurate equipment documentation, such as process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), mechanical drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, functional specifications, factory and customer acceptance test (FAT/CAT), installation and operational qualification (IQ/OQ), etc
  • Work closely with workshop associates and providing mentorship for mechanical expertise; Supporting equipment buyers to look for professional equipment / devices suppliers and participating in certifying the suppliers
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and trends
  • Utilize the quality system/continuous improvement practice/project management tools to facilitate the execution and implementation of the efforts listed above

      

Required Qualifications: 

  • B.S. or above Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or Machine Design.
  • Minimum 8 years working experience on performing mechanical design(customized design) & startup for new equipment and tooling, manage facility and general maintenance operations including machine-safety practices
  • Practical experience developing 3D and 2D CAD documentation (models and drawings) using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent design software
  • Demonstrated project management & implementing experience, strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, initiate, and support/drive projects to completion.
  • Ability to research and use mechanical engineering concepts, principles, and theories to design new mechanical systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical matters clearly and concisely to all stakeholders, both orally and in written reports
  • Strong team player and ability to interact and work effectively with cross functional teams and a diverse group of associates
  • Flexibility to support off shift troubleshooting and overtime working periodically.
  • Good reading/writing/verbal English skills
  • Able to travel up to 10%

      

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Multinational company working experience is preferred
  • Complex project management experience
  • Laminate process or textile related industry experience and knowledge
