Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of M.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with minimum 5 years of experience in product, process, or materials development post-graduation
  • Demonstrated ability to critically and creatively apply scientific fundamentals to the practice of synthetic chemistry and associated product & process development
  • Experience working with chemicals and chemical processing unit operations at various scales (lab, production)
  • Demonstrated ability to research scientific literature to thoroughly understand state-of-the-art and apply findings to guide hypothesis generation, empirical approach, understand related / competitive products, and maximize return on experimental investments
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, apply, and interpret a wide variety of analytical techniques to characterize materials while working with analytical subject matter experts
  • Demonstrated ability to design & execute experiments and ability to apply statistics, where appropriate, to drive data-based decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and drive multiple projects concurrently from development to completion against agreed upon timelines and deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to document, communicate, and present technical bodies of work
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and influence cross-functional teams, as well as work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work hands-on in all aspects of project work
  • Ability to travel periodically (<15%)

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with minimum 10 years of experience in product, process, or materials development post-graduation
  • Experience working within a quality system

  

Hybrid Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore’s hybrid working policies, from the country in which they are employed.
