About the Role: We are looking for a Sustainability Reporting Specialist who will develop and maintain a current ESG reporting and transparency framework for our global Fabrics business and who will support on preparing regulatory compliant and voluntary reports in close collaboration with key stakeholders in Fabrics and our broader Enterprise.

 

This position will be located at one of our facilities in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

  

Pay and Benefits:

  • $110,000 - $140,000 per year

Responsibilities: 

  • Establish and oversee annual Fabrics Sustainability Update preparation, collaborate with communications team, reporting Center of Excellence (COE) and Fabrics stakeholders to establish repeatable processes that ensure collection and validation of relevant qualitative and quantitative data based on internal performance tracking and external reporting frameworks
  • Understand and lead the adoption of (new) sustainability reporting requirements from gap analysis to implementation and reporting, e.g. on chemicals, materials, carbon and corporate reporting matters (e.g. CSRD, CSDDD)
  • Represent Gore Fabrics interests as a member of the Sustainability Reporting CoE and act as designated Gore Fabrics reporting coordinator
  • Implement and coordinate global data collection and integration across businesses and functions, and design regulatory-compliant reports in collaboration with reporting COE
  • Oversee transparency and traceability requests from customers on ESG matters to ensure accuracy and consistency in our response in partnership with Sales, Legal, Communications and Sustainability Experts
  • Understand trends in ESG disclosure, transparency and regulations, adjust to evolving expectations of key internal and external stakeholders and develop recommendations for action
  • Stay informed on best practices in sustainability reporting, and be a member of Reporting Center of Excellence
  • Coordinate responses to external sustainability assessments and to our value chain
  • Support ESG Reporting Tool Implementation and other related platforms

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in environmental science or sustainability, economics, business, finance, or accounting
  • Minimum 3 years experience with sustainability reporting
  • Exceptional project management experience, attention to detail and an ability to manage work with competing priorities
  • Familiar with standards and requirements for reporting on non-financial aspects (such as Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), TCFD, SDGs, GRI, etc.))
  • Passionate for sustainability paired with creating a win for the business
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge multiple data sources for quality, accuracy and consistency
  • Proven ability to coordinate and integrate work products with input from teams across an organization, juggling different perspectives and priorities and motivating others
  • Ability to travel 20%  

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience in textiles/apparel industry
  • Knowledge of textiles/apparel certification schemes, such as Bluesign, Oeko Tex, Global Recycled Standard and Higg Index
  • Understanding of GAAP, PCAOB/AICPA Compliance Standard, Sarbanes Oxley, COSO, IT audit concepts, and leading business practices
  • Knowledge of financial reporting (HGB/IFRS/US-GAAP) and on current Sustainability Auditing and Accounting Standards (e.g. COSO Internal Control Framework for Sustainability Reporting (ICSR) and IAASB’s Sustainability Assurance Standard (ISSA 5000)
