About the Role: We are looking for an energetic, experienced customer-oriented Commercial Reliability Specialist to join our Industrial business in North America.  You will leverage your industry expertise to enhance product performance and customer fitness for use as related to our products. Your commitment to customer satisfaction and ability to build strong relationships will play a key role in driving business growth and ensuring the successful implementation of our innovative products in challenging environments.

 

This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $105,000 - $160,000 per year
  • Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain contract manufactures (CMs) both globally and domestic, supporting supply chain directives on detailed specifications and quality control procedures, to ensure compliance with all regulations, and resolving deviations to ensure consistent product quality and compliance standard in support of customer facing initiatives and customer needs
  • Ensure filtration designs are manufacturable across locations while following our manufacturing and construction guidelines 
  • Competitive product analysis related to scanning electron microscopy (SEM), laboratory evaluation, and outside testing 
  • Ensure fitness-for-use through first article test fits of filter bags, procuring cages, thimbles, tube sheets, etc.
  • Engage with CMs to focus on reducing warranty claims, to allow for earlier identification and resolution of potential defects
  • Partner cross-functionally, both internally and externally, as it pertains to filter bags. (new process, bag analysis, CM site capabilities, asset management at CM’s, root cause) 
  • Create work instructions for effective training and knowledge transfer preserving institutional knowledge 
  • Maintain training documentation to ensure personnel at the contract manufacturing site are properly instructed on specific processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirement  
  • Create and process Engineering Change Requests (ECR), levering test data to inform decisions and implement changes effectively 
  • Document trip reports (production progress, issue resolution) 

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment applying engineering fundamentals 
  • Experience with designing and implementing methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection  
  • Experience with documenting, communicating, and presenting technical bodies of work 
  • Experience with making risk-based choices through use of tools such as Failure Mode and Effective Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), contingency planning, etc.
  • Experience with making data-based choices with the use of statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and influence cross-functional teams, as well as work independently 
  • Ability to travel up to 25% 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience in Gore or external regulated environment 
  • Experience in Gore or external quality systems, documentation, and methodologies 
  • Experience with formal root cause analysis tools
