About the Role: We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our team.  In this role, you will work on a wide array of accounting commitments across the various entities in the US West and be a high contributing member in support of the General Ledger team.

 

This position will be located at one of our facilities in Flagstaff or Phoenix, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

 
Responsibilities: 
  • Be passionate to provide accounting support for a world-class manufacturer
  • Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships
  • Be comfortable, experienced, and motivated, working in hybrid environment, as part of a team
  • Complete closing tasks for the general ledger, including preparation of account and balance sheet reconciliations and accruals; ensure account accuracy
  • Perform quarterly General Ledger activities, such as reconciliations, exception reporting, etc
  • Review, maintain, and implement processes to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Support the local financial audit through preparation of reports and schedules
  • Support the GL Team with tasks & activities as required by the team
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure alignment and to support the changing needs of internal customers
  • Work and partner with functions throughout the Enterprise to improve the accuracy of the financial statements
 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with ERP systems, Cognos, TM1 or equivalent, Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts (GAAP and/or IFRS)
  • Possesses strong desire to learn and develop, curiosity, initiative and work ethic
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
  • Strong written, oral, and listening communication skills and able to communicate complex accounting concepts to non-financial associates
  • Enjoy interacting with others, with an ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • High level of energy, versatile, and able to be engaged in multiple tasks
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts to non-financial associates
  • Ability to travel up to 15%

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience in accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Public Accounting experience
  • MBA in accounting or business-related discipline, CPA or CMA certifications
