Medical Education Liaison, Vascular Brazil
About the Role: We are looking for a Medical Education Liaison to support our Vascular business within Gore Medical. This role can be based remotely from your home office in metropolitan São Paulo, Brazil. The role focuses on engagement with internal and external stakeholders, to drive educational programs that help physicians effectively treat patients using Gore devices.
In this role you will drive the execution of our external training and education plans and provide primary support to our HCP consultants that provide these services. You will also interface regularly with appropriate commercial team members and maintain a high level of knowledge to ensure credible dissemination of scientific information and dialogue with HCP consultants. In the role you will also provide oversight to HCP education and engagements currently being performed by our distributors in Brazil to help ensure compliance with our distributor Code of Conduct.
Critical to success in this role is the commitment to identify and deliver continuous improvement around our ability to execute a world-class training and education program. Doing this will require deep clinical knowledge, effectiveness at developing and delivering HCP education and a commitment to work with cross-functional team members to ensure that our plans meet both business and compliance requirements.
This is a remote position, and you can work from home in São Paulo, Brazil, or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with physician consultants who provide training and education services
- Collaborate with business and cross-functional teams and provide input into training and education strategies while retaining functional independence
- Create and deliver an annual needs assessment for engagements required to support training and education services
- Participate in identification and engagement processes to ensure sufficient and adequate consultant resources for execution of training and education plan
- Provide direct on-site support for training and education services and events
- Participate in review of HCP consultant utilization, exceptions, and trends with Compliance and Business Leadership
- Review and approve distributor initiated HCP education activities to ensure compliance with required processes
- Ensure that all activities and interactions are conducted with due regard to all applicable local and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies and accepted standards of best practice
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or certification with a medical, science, technical, or business/marketing focus
- Minimum of 10 years experience in a sales, marketing, product management, or clinical training/support role in the cardiovascular medical device industry
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) to plan and execute clinically-oriented training and education events
- Demonstrated success influencing across cross-functional teams
- Native level speaker of Brazilian Portuguese, reading and writing skills
- English: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential, as the role involves participation in international meetings and collaboration with global teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage in challenging negotiations both internally and externally
- Business level English speaking ability, reading and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize clinical information
- Proven ability to build relationships with clinician customers, in particular key physician thought leaders
- Ability to travel up to 40%, within Brazil, and internationally twice a year for business purposes
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in medicine, science, engineering or marketing
- Experience with annual planning of HCP training and education events, including use of Annual Needs Assessments or similar tools
- Experience working with vascular surgery products
- Fluency in Spanish
