NPD Engineer
About the Role: We are looking for a NPD Engineer to join our EPS Technical Team in Shenzhen who will work within a global and cross-functional team to advance new product development projects from concept through commercialization in the Asia Pacific region, you will need to identifying critical uncertainties, designing targeted experiments, rapidly building new prototypes, defining and assessing fitness-for-use, and driving commercialization and scale up.
This role will be located in Gore facility in Shenzhen, China.
- Understand the end use of products, determining fitness-for-use of materials, and effectively advancing the specification development of new and derivative products
- Identify and assessing product alternatives and fabricating prototypes, material evaluation
- Design experiments, analyzing, documenting and communicating results
- Develop test methods and procedures to assess product performance
- Work with the cross-function team to develop and validate equipment, process and material specifications
- Communicate effectively product development progress and results with global and cross-functional teams
- Apply disciplined project practices to prioritize, execute, and document your work
- Identify patent opportunities and supporting the enterprise IP processes
- Enjoy the challenges of troubleshooting technically complex product issues
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or advanced degree in engineering or science (Polymer, Chemical, Electronic, Mechanical, Material, etc) with a minimum of 3 years new product introduction experience
- Experience developing new processes to support product development
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills, including in English
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams, strong project management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Demonstrated ability to design experiments, statistically analyze the results and provide data supported decisions
- Self-motivated and directed with the ability to prioritize multiple projects on aggressive timelines
- Hands-on working style with the desire and ability to work in the lab
- Ability to travel up to 5%
Desired Qualifications:
- With Polymer, Chemical master’s degree or related education background is preferred
- Minimum 2 years working experience in mobile electronic industry
