About the Role: We are looking for a highly experienced Project Manager to join our Peripheral Business Research and Development (R&D) team.  In this role, the associate will be accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time, and within budget and scope by leveraging best practice project management methodologies. This associate will lead a cross-functional Project Team which may include Concept Development, Product Development, or a Technology Transfer, on Peripheral prioritized R&D projects. This Principal role will be leading highly complex projects and would be accountable for managing multiple timelines in a coordinated effort to achieve business objectives.

 

This position will be located at one of our facilities in Flagstaff or Phoenix, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

 
Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the NPD entire project team in detailed planning and execution of scope for the entire project, including concept development, product development, successful hand-over to product launch, and commercialization support
  • Partner with the Product Specialist to ensure the project meets the business objectives and the product meets fitness for use requirements
  • Partner with the Technical Integrator to ensure the product and process design meets business objectives
  • Facilitate the definition of the project contract elements, including Project Success Targets, project scope, assumptions, and financial and resource requirements, and facilitate trade-off decisions and project change requests as needed
  • Develop and maintain multiple project timelines that link in a coordinated effort and successfully manage the critical path through prioritization and trade-off decisions to achieve project milestones
  • Support Technical Integrator and other core team leaders in project risk management, uncertainty planning, and management of issues effectively within the timeline
  • Lead the core team to proactively identify, assess, and plan appropriate responses to project risks and appropriately challenge the project team to think creatively to achieve project milestones and objectives.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Gemba, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Develop communication and stakeholder strategies and represent project status and performance at phase gate and business reviews throughout the project lifecycle
  • Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior and facilitate resolution of interpersonal and team performance issues within the team and escalate issues to business leaders, functional leaders, and decision makers, as appropriate
 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering OR Bachelor's degree with professional experience in technical functions
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager leading large cross functional highly complex projects and experience working within the medical device field leading cross functional teams
  • Experienced with complex scheduling and critical path management, using tools such as MS Project 
    • Demonstrated experience in Design Control (FDA 820) or similar regulated environment
    • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices
    • Demonstrated high proficiency with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices
    • Strong written/oral communication, organizational, data analytical skills, and attention to detail
    • Excellent leadership capabilities with the ability to influence, motivate, and facilitate problem solving
    • Strong business acumen, including demonstrated track record of clear decision making and ability to effectively influence cross functionally and to facilitate organizational alignment
    • Ability to travel up to 15%

     

    Desired Qualifications: 

    • Project Management Professional Credential or advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.)
    • Experience leading NPD projects through the full lifecycle
    • Experience leading NPD teams thru global regulatory submissions
