About the Role: We are seeking a Process Engineer (f/m/d) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate with external suppliers for product transitions and commercial production as needed. Additionally, you will support the development of new products and lead scale-up activities.

 

This position will be located at our facility in Putzbrunn, near Munich, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Validate new raw materials and changes in raw materials to ensure all product requirements for our Filtration and Electronics businesses are met
  • Asses technical capabilities of CM (Contract Manufacturers) and participate in CM selection decisions. Support CM in developing new capability/capacity to fulfill future business needs
  • Take ownership of product transfer to CM and partner with CM on technical issues related to our products 
  • Along with R&D team, act as a technical liaison to support product development e.g., accompany and assess sample manufacturing runs
  • Transition products from sample/non-commercial manufacturing to full-scale commercial production
  • Establish testing capabilities at CMs and support test method validation
  • Monitor and improve product performance (stability/capability of product attributes, yield, etc.) of commercial products utilizing statistical methods and other tools
  • Define, execute and document engineering projects including process development and scale-up, product/process validation, capacity and improvement efforts
  • Collaborate with international business and process engineering teams to successfully establish global supply chains that meet our customers' requirements

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of direct hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment as a Process Engineer
  • Proven experience working with R&D teams
  • Fundamental knowledge of statistical tools for development, optimization, and troubleshooting activities
  • Project Management Skills
  • Illustrated success in scaling up processes
  • Systematic and analytic approach to problem-solving
  • Effective written and oral communication including English proficiency in technical discussions
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team, including influencing across functions
  • Fluent in German and English

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience with industrial fabric manufacturing – nonwoven processing, weaving, texturizing, coating, finishing, heat setting, sewing
  • Membrane manufacturing experience and successful experience managing complex projects with external partners in global environments
  • Advanced statistical skills and experience, e.g. Design of Experiments (DoE), Statistical process Control (SPC) etc.
