About the Role:  We are looking for a Skilled Trades Leader to join our PharmBIO team. In this role, you will lead a team of Skilled Trades, Maintenance/Calibration, and Facilities Associates in support of manufacturing and new product development while following the requirements put forth within our regulated Quality System.    

 

This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland. ​​

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $100.000 - $130,000 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a skilled Maintenance/Calibration and Skilled Trades team which collaborates effectively within the team and across the plant; hold the team accountable for meeting personal and team objectives; drive P&D
  • Develop key metrics and monitor performance vs. target.  Drive corrective action when metric targets are not met; examples may include maintenance on-time, planned vs. unplanned work orders, actual spend vs. budget, etc
  • Ensure compliance in support of the regulated Quality Management System
  • Ensure the implementation of, and adherence to, systems and processes that meet environmental, health and safety requirements, inclusive of external regulations such as NFPA and OSHA. Leads with a “safety first” mindset
  • Partner effectively with Manufacturing, R&D/NPD, Engineering, and other support teams to meet business requirements
  • Model the Gore Culture to create an inclusive work environment where Associates are engaged and feel valued

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Operations field of study and a minimum of 2 years leadership experience or a minimum of 5 years Technical or Operations leadership experience in lieu of a degree
  • Prior experience working in a skilled trades role in a Manufacturing
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency in working in an ISO-certified skilled trades or shop environment
  • Experience driving area metrics and response to values that are “off-target”
  • Experience developing and/or maintaining Preventive Maintenance schedules
  • Technical proficiency related to plant operations, including understanding of equipment, processes, problem solving, and mechanical/electrical systems
  • Ability to communicates directly and effectively with Associates across various functions to resolve challenges
  • Proven ability to handle competing priorities

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in regulated quality systems such as ISO13485
  • Experience with SAP/EAM
  • Excellent knowledge of process improvement techniques with demonstrated ability to use Lean or Six Sigma tools
