Global Technical Leader Aerospace & Defense Business
About the Role: We are looking for a Global Technical Leader to join our Aerospace & Defense Team. In this role, you will be accountable for the activities within the A&D Technical Team and directly lead the Regional Technical Leader. You will participate in shaping and executing the overall A&D Business Strategy and be part of the Gore Performance Solutions Technical Leadership Team, which influences and ensures technical resource alignment to the functional technical and individual development plans.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Pay and Benefits:
- $212,000 - $266,000 per year
- Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a forward-looking technical plan; including BU Technical Project portfolio and priorities, maintaining and executing an R&D funnel that supports the growth of the BU, and integration of regional capabilities to ensure effective execution of global strategy
- Influence BU strategy development as a member of the Aerospace & Defense Core leadership team
- In alignment with Aerospace & Defense business strategies, provide technical and people leadership for the Aerospace & Defense Technical Team
- Provide stewardship of BU Technical Team investments and overall ROI; including resource planning, hiring, and project/regional allocation decisions
- Champion IP strategy for the BU and ensure appropriate protection of Gore IP
- Ensure development and growth of the AD Product Strategy Model and related platform SET’s
- Continuously grow the skills and capabilities of the technical team through development of local leaders
- Foster an environment of collaboration across functions and businesses; and represent the function in Strategic Customer engagements and Quality system audits
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Physics or other Technical Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in New Product or Process Development
- Experience developing and activating visionary technical plans
- Experience managing near-term priorities and long-term strategic opportunities
- History of success in leading, mentoring and inspiring technical associates in multiple geographies
- Experience interacting with external partners/customers
- Proficiency with Portfolio Management and Technical Road Map Tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams and influence across functions
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25%
Desired Qualifications:
- Advance Degree
- Experience in the Defense Industry
- Technology or Large-Scale NPD Development experience
