About the Role: We are looking for a Lean Specialist to join our Plant Operations Team within Gore Performance Solutions. This role is responsible for partnering with cross functional teams including Manufacturing Execution Teams and Business Teams to implement and sustain Lean Principles across our manufacturing plants. This is a challenging opportunity where one will understand and apply Lean Principles in a fast-paced, quality driven organization that is cross functionally and cross regionally collaborative.

 

This role will be located at our Appleton North facility in Elkton, Maryland

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $80,000 - $108,000 per year

Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with the Manufacturing Execution Team and Business Teams as needed to implement and sustain Lean Principles in our processes
  • Implement and execute lean tools such as: Kaizen, 5S, VSM, LDM, OEE, etc
  • Provide direction and coaching to local teams (Leaders, Engineers, Manufacturing, Support, etc.) to embed CI disciplines into daily work
  • Assist with defining Gore Business System content (processes, tools/templates, roles, standard work, teaching materials)
  • Coach leaders and team members in their role and their standard work
  • Facilitate teams in utilizing process improvement tools from problem identification through project implementation and successful monitoring
  • Team with other Lean Specialists to drive consistency in lean deployment across the Gore Performance Solutions Team
  • Train associates in support of building capability 
  • Continuously expand knowledge of continuous process improvement

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain or minimum of 5 years equivalent experience implementing improvements in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using CI Tools to solve problems and make improvements with positive results
  • Project Management Experience
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated success in closing projects with sustainable results
  • Strong knowledge of CI Principles, systems, and tools
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to facilitate diverse problem solving and improvement events
  • Demonstrated ability to influence both teams and individuals (including influencing leaders and applying a hands-on approach when appropriate)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and effectively deliver training materials and exercises to cross functional teams
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Lean or Six Sigma Experience
  • General understanding of the Shingo Model Framework
