Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer
About the Role: We are looking for an Automotive Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provides Customer Quality support possessing excellent technical and customer facing skills to handle customer complaint and drive corrective actions partnering with cross functions and supplier or Contract Manufacturer (CM).
This role will be located at our facility in Shenzhen, China.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate customer complaints and technical issues, owning the relationship with the customer’s quality and process engineers
- Provide customers with PPAP (production part approval process) documentation and/or FAI (first article inspection) reports
- Work with customers to verify, understand and trouble-shoot the quality or technical issues
- Manage the investigation and analysis to identify root causes working with internal cross functions and supplier or contract manufacturer
- Be able to use problem-solving methodologies during the process (i.e. 5Why, 8D, Ishikawa Diagram)
- Respond to customer issues urgently including off hours and with on-site travel as needed (often needs to be on-site within 24 hours)
- Develop a strong understanding of Gore product and customer’s integration process with Gore product
- Apply FMEA risk management principles to quality improvements and change management
- Conduct internal audits as well as supplier audits
- Support customer audits as needed including those at supplier/contract manufacturing partners
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Mechanical, Electronics, Material, Quality Engineering, or other technical discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Customer Quality/Engineering or Customer Assurance role
- Demonstrated experiences to manage internal and external customer expectations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills
- Team oriented and responsive
- Ability to work in high pressure environment and handle demanding customer requests
- Demonstrated experiences of applying problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques including 8D report, cause-and-effect diagram and Pareto chart and understanding of others.
- Proven ability to build a strong collaborative working relationship with a broad range of associates (ex. Manufacturing, Technical, Product Specialists, Application engineer etc.) and customer
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Ability to travel up to 15%
Desired Qualifications:
- Experienced working with the IATF16949 standard in automotive industry
- IATF16949 and VDA6.3 internal auditor
