Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 1 year of work or volunteer experience caring for animals and their physical space
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a small team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work flexible hours/schedules, including change in schedule, overtime, weekends, holidays, and Call-In as required
  • Ability to pass background and drug screen physical health baseline and have no known animal allergies
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely, and up to 80 lbs. with assistance 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Certification by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science as an Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) or higher
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) by American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a research environment, animal behavior training, or veterinary clinic where caring for and training animals was part of daily responsibilities
